We recognize the importance of quality ownership from conception to shipment. In order to provide you with the highest quality and confidence, we have purchased multiple foundries, machine shops, and distribution centers, giving us total control over our supply chain and quality management. Our complete supply chain ownership, in addition to our ISO and PED certifications, allows us to control supply priorities, quality control management, and specialized projects throughout the supply chain system. Below are the details of our product integrity initiatives.
Quality is ingrained in us. We have highly trained staff that provide consistent quality checks to ensure all products are safe and accurate. We are ISO and PED certified. Coupled with that, we also:
- Encourage 3rd party inspectors to come on-site to work with our quality team.
- Make sure all quality checks are done from the pour of your casting down to it being shipped.
- Ensure quality checks are performed on a multipoint internal test plan that is integrated into our ERP system.
- Require mechanical and metallurgical engineers on-site to provide guidance and direction.
Innx Metals Ltd is committed to respecting and upholding human rights across our business practices and supply chains. We believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, and we are working to ensure our business activities and practices are aligned with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
Our partnerships with suppliers are crucial in sustainably managing the social, environmental and ethical risks inherent in our global supply. We seek to work with suppliers and partners who share similar values and take a similar approach to protecting human rights, caring for people and the environment, and creating a strong, sustainable future.
With its strength, durability and recyclability, steel is one of the most useful and in-demand materials in the world and a critical foundation for sustainable economic development and the transition to a low carbon society.
Our position
We’re committed to actively addressing climate change and investing in GHG emissions reduction to transform BlueScope for long term success. In the near to mid-term, we’re optimising current operating assets across our portfolio. For the longer term, we’re exploring and collaborating to pursue emerging and breakthrough technologies to work towards our 2050 net zero goal.
We’ve allocated $150 million over five years starting FY22 to fund our climate-related technology plan.
We’re also working to optimize water monitoring, reduce the consumption of fresh water drawn from community water sources, for example through water recycling and rainwater capture, and improve water discharge quality.
At SPHYNX ENERGY INC, we understand that our role in the energy sector comes with profound responsibility. We are committed to a path of sustainable growth that balances the critical energy needs of today with the environmental and social imperatives of tomorrow. Our sustainability strategy is not a separate initiative; it is woven into the fabric of our business model, influencing our operations, our partnerships, and our vision for the future.
Our ESG Framework: Environment, Social, and Governance
Our approach to sustainability is structured around the globally recognized ESG framework. This provides a comprehensive and measurable way to guide our actions and report on our progress.
1. Environmental Stewardship: Minimizing Our Footprint
As a wholesaler of petroleum products, our most significant environmental focus is on the “S” and “T” in ESG—Scope and Transport. We are dedicated to minimizing the environmental impact of our own operations and empowering our clients to do the same.
Operational Efficiency and Emissions Reduction: Our core business model as a wholesaler “except bulk stations and terminals” inherently reduces our direct environmental footprint compared to vertically integrated companies. However, our primary impact comes from transportation. We are actively tackling this through:
Advanced Logistics Optimization: We use cutting-edge software to plan the most efficient delivery routes, minimizing miles driven, fuel consumed, and associated emissions (CO_2, NO_x). This dual benefit reduces our environmental impact while also lowering operational costs.
Modern, Efficient Fleet: We partner with transport providers who invest in modern, fuel-efficient trucks that meet or exceed the latest EPA emissions standards. We prioritize partners who are exploring alternative fuels like renewable diesel or compressed natural gas (CNG) for their fleets.
Idle Reduction Policies: We enforce strict anti-idling policies for all deliveries, preventing wasteful fuel consumption and unnecessary emissions at client sites.
Product Stewardship and Spill Prevention: The safe handling of our products is paramount.
Zero-Spill Philosophy: Our training and operational protocols are designed around a zero-spill philosophy. All personnel involved in the handling and transport of our products undergo rigorous, recurrent safety training based on OSHA and DOT guidelines.
Emergency Preparedness: We maintain a comprehensive Emergency Response Plan that can be activated instantly in the unlikely event of a spill. This includes partnerships with certified environmental cleanup contractors across our service areas to ensure swift and effective mitigation of any environmental impact.
Promoting Cleaner Energy Solutions: While our core business is in traditional petroleum products, we are actively engaged in the energy transition.
Biofuels and Renewable Diesel: We are expanding our portfolio to include drop-in biofuels like renewable diesel and biodiesel blends. These products can significantly reduce the lifecycle carbon intensity of our clients’ fuel consumption without requiring any equipment modifications.
High-Performance Lubricants: We promote the use of advanced, synthetic lubricants that improve engine efficiency, reduce friction, and extend drain intervals. This leads to lower fuel consumption and less waste oil generation for our clients.
Future Fuels Research: We are actively monitoring and engaging in industry discussions around future energy vectors like hydrogen, synthetic fuels (e-fuels), and electrification, positioning ourselves to be a distribution partner for the fuels of tomorrow.
2. Social Responsibility: People, Partners, and Communities
Our business is powered by people and exists to serve communities. Our social commitment is focused on the well-being of our employees, the strength of our partnerships, and the vitality of the communities we call home.
Health and Safety Above All: The well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients is our highest priority. We have cultivated a deeply ingrained safety culture that aims for “Target Zero”—zero incidents, zero injuries, and zero harm. This is achieved through continuous training, regular safety audits, empowering every employee to stop work if they see an unsafe condition, and transparent reporting of safety metrics.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I): We believe that a diverse team is a stronger, more innovative team. SPYEX PETROLEUM is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, and have equal opportunities for growth and advancement. We actively work to build a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
Community Engagement in Southfield and Beyond: We believe in giving back to the communities that support our business. From our headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, we lead and participate in various community initiatives:
Local STEM Education Support: We sponsor local school programs focused on science, technology, engineering, and math to inspire the next generation of innovators in the energy and logistics sectors.
Environmental Initiatives: We volunteer for and contribute to local conservation efforts, such as park cleanups and tree-planting events.
Charitable Giving: The company and our employees support local charities and non-profits that provide essential services to residents.
Ethical Supply Chain: We hold our suppliers and partners to the same high standards we set for ourselves. We conduct due diligence to ensure our partners operate ethically, respect human rights, and comply with all environmental and labor laws.
